I am looking at configuring a 14" MacBook Pro M2 Max with 512gb SSD. This is the only way that I can configure the M2 Max to fit with my budget. I don't necessarily need the extra storage space but was wondering if I will notice the performace hit of the slower SSD. I haven't seen any posts with this configuration.

Elaborate. What are your needs / what does your workflow look like?

For everyday usage (emailing, web browsing etc) there is no difference.

If you're going that high end get the 1TB. The 512 has about half the performance as the 1 TB speed wise. It's a known issue with the newer models. Don't bottleneck such a high end machine with a lower performance SSD. Skip the max go with the pro with 1TB instead.
