14" MBP - Menu Bar icons hidden by the notch

My 14" MBP is set to a scaled (1352x878) resolution, and some of the menu bar icons are either partially or fully hidden behind the notch. Why won't MacOS scale the icons to be smaller to accommodate more of them? Is there anything I can do to reduce the menu bar icon size without going back to the default resolution?

This is the solution. I don’t believe you can simply make the text smaller on just the menu bar, but maybe someone else has a way.

Thanks for the link! While this would work for specific apps, I'm running into this with just Safari and its dropdown menu options plus my menu bar icons. I guess a workaround would be to reduce the number of icons in the menu bar and use the control center more? Just crappy for Apple to not have come up with a more elegant solution.

Unfortunately for me I don’t have one yet to test if there’s another solution

Haha no worries, thanks again for sharing that solution! Hopefully Apple will release a fix if enough people complain...it's a great laptop otherwise. Did you order yours? Hope you get it soon!

Not yet, it’s a big decision and I’m still deciding what I want or if I want to wait for a desktop variant.
