Why did you sell it? What are you using now?The $2,199 Deal for the 16“ MBP w/ 36 RAM is a pretty incredible deal. Only $200 more than the regular price for the base model for double the RAM. It’s tempting even though I sold that exact config a month ago lol
I sold it for a 14" (fully loaded spec). I found with the 16" it just lived on my desk; with the 14" I am using it a lot more since it weighs a lot less and is more portable. I do miss the larger screen and better battery life of the 16" though. Why did you sell it? What are you using now?
I’m very undecided between the two options I listed above. I don’t need the 16” pro, but u love larger screens
Just got home with the 16". Getting it set up and browsing around here while the update downloads. I already love the extra screen real estate. I am super happy. Best Buy member price was $1799 and I had $40 in points so I got it for $1759 down from $2500I sold it for a 14" (fully loaded spec). Care to share?but I also found a deal on Amazon for a new M1 Pro 16" for ~$1900 with a 30% coupon! Taking it to ~$1300. Which is extremely tempting as well.
Sure - I have had this in and out of my cart all day - alternating with the Best $1799 M3Pro one. You have to clip the coupon, and the discount only appears at checkout. It's really tempting - but I think it can only be returned unopened within 15 days. I'm trying really hard to buy nothing.Care to share?
Where is the fun in that?🤣I'm trying really hard to buy nothing.
Thanks! I think I’ll go with the Best Buy option but I’ll stew on this one for a day.Sure - I have had this in and out of my cart all day - alternating with the Best $1799 M3Pro one. Disqualify from what? With the rumored base ram increasing to 16 gb does that disqualify a MacBook with 18 gb of ram no matter the discount?
The point of the articles showing sale price are premised on its too good of a deal to pass up, as all these machines could have been purchased off sale the last 12 months. So if the premise is to purchase now not because you need one but it's a good deal is it a good deal if the base ram is increased?Disqualify from what?
FWIW, it looks like only the RAM for the non-Pro / Max chips might increase (given that the article showed that the RAM was in 16 / 32 GB variants. I would be surprised if they upgraded RAM in the Pro / Max chips as well, given that they just did last year as well... but then again, maybe it might not make sense to upgrade M4 machines to 16GB minimum, so close to the 18GB minimum of the Pro chips. The point of the articles showing sale price are premised on its too good of a deal to pass up, as all these machines could have been purchased off sale the last 12 months. Are you asking if these deals are no longer good deals If base ram is increased with new releases? They aren't going to increase the base ram and decrease the base price by $700-$1000, which is what these deals get you.The point of the articles showing sale price are premised on its too good of a deal to pass up, as all these machines could have been purchased off sale the last 12 months.
