I just got done playing about an hour of CS:S and when afterwards I leaned closer to my iMac to unplug my headphones and felt some heat around the computer. The top center, and top of left side are very hot to the touch.

These are my temps, and the fans were idling at the time (odd). Any help? Is this normal?

haha, well, thats good i guess.

do any of your fans ever* come on?
by ever, i mean ever. mine never ever come on.

The older white Intel iMacs had a default fan speed of 800 RPM while the new ones are at 1200. In addition the aluminium body of the new ones is much warmer to the touch.

I've had my iMacs hit 1300-1500 RPM via SMC but anything over 900 RPM is noticeable.

140-150 Degree iMac?

MY GAWD! I presently own an ASUS Pundit PC which has a thermostatically controlled fan that roars at revs at the slightest hint of work! For heaps of reasons I will not bore you with here I decided to switch to an IMac 20". When I remarked to the salesman just how QUIET it was in the store he replied that the iMac "doesn't even need a fan"!!!
I have to wonder what else he told me about this machine that wasn't quite...er...correct? Is this going to be a case of 'from the frying pan into the fire'???
