I had a 15" CoreDuo MBP and when I did DVI->HDMI to my Sharp 46" 1080p TV it would show a resolution of 1920x1080. On my new SR 17" MBP (bought 2 days ago) using the same cable to the same TV it shows 1920x1080 (interlaced). For display name it used to say "SHARP LCD" and now it says "SHARP HDMI." Is this a video card driver limitation? Not that what I'm watching really matters the p vs i, but if with Leopard they put in Blu-Ray/HD-DVD support, I might buy an external player to watch the movies since the new video card is HDCP compliant. Is this a big deal? Should I look at something like DisplayConfigX to see if I can get 1080p instead of 1080i out of the card?
