15-Inch Imac ... bring it back

Who else thinks apple should bring back a 15-Imach. It would'nt be hard to make, basically the same model as the current lineups just smaller and it would probaly be comparable to the Mac mini as far as specs.

I think it's a good idea because alot of Mac mini customers wish apple made monitors. This would solve the problem in my eyes and would make apple extra money. Win win situation for everyone.

I reckon the 17inch is small enough, 15" monitors are becoming less and less common

Well is that really practical? A $700 monitor for a $600 or a $800 computer? I guess if there was a 17 inch monitor that might solve the problem but I don't think so. Apple would at least charge $300 for something like that if not more. So lets say if the do charge $300, that would be either $900 or $1100 for the mac mini monitor combo. A 20 inch Imac for $1000 would still be alot better than either option. So that's why I still say a 15 inch Imac is a good idea.

There is already an $899 iMac (albeit an edu only iMac), and the top of the line mini is $779 (edu), so where are you going to price this 15 inch iMac?

Don't have access to edu pricing? OK then, the low-end iMac is $999, and the top end mini is $799, so where is your 15 inch iMac going to go? At $899? But wait, Apple already sells an edu 17 inch iMac for $899. It would be cheaper for Apple to just make the 17 inch edu iMac available for everyone then it would be to develop and manufacture a new 15 inch iMac.

Can you image the uproar around here if Apple sold an edu only 17 inch iMac for $899 and a consumer $899 15 inch iMac?

It just makes no sense. Plus 15 inch screens are lousy.
