...? (yes, the title was cheated of that question mark)

I was curious if anyone knows what came of old rumors of larger iPads? Is there any demand for such an iPad?

Reason I ask: my old 12wx Cintiq monitor-tablet broke down this week and I took a chance on an new 12.9" iPad Pro with Apple pencil. Boffo! Using the new Clip Studio Paint for iPad on it works better than the 12wx on a Mac. The only complain I have is that I wish it was a little larger, perhaps 15" screen size (not anything larger than 16").

I'm hoping the future brings a larger iPad Pro with increased real estate. Who needs an expensive and limited Cintiq for $1500 (16") when you can get a whole computer (iPad, actually. I know where I want to go: not into that discussion) for $800??

I know there are claims of all sorts of processor upgrades coming this year, reduced bevels, etc. If the reduced bevels come with larger screens, so the iPad Pro becomes a 14+" model, that would be good.

yup, highly unlikely i think.

i love my 12.9 pro immensely, but i cant see, for general computing purposes for the people, that the time and effort and cost can be justified by Apple in investing down this avenue. what advantage will it bring to the masses?

i'd never go back to anything smaller that 12.9, but would i go bigger? probably not, cant see the point.

It's more likely they'd make the 12,9" smaller with smaller bezels than make the screen bigger maintaining physical size.
I was contemplating that today. It'd make the iPad Pro about 14.5"... not bad.

Well, I guess we will see in the next year.

Pity there aren't any rumors towards a larger iPad. Seems there is no resounding call for such an iPad.

This iPad Pro does work well with Duet to become a Cintiq using the computer's programs and CPU, though.

15 inch ipad .... big deal . I'm waiting for the 17 or 19 inch ipad. Don't knock it til we try it.

My ipad 4 retina has been retired in favor of my larger 12.9 (ability to multitask split screen). I am no longer comfortable using the 4 (which essentially is almost the same size as the 9.7 and 10.5). The 12.9 is the minimum size moving forward for me.

More screen real estate would be great for multitasking. I've read some issues with the duet not playing nice with the ipad, or was it the other way around, or something type of issue associated with the duet. Heard good things about the Astropad unfortunately not available for the PC. Too bad astropad is moving towards a subscription based service.

I’d love to see a 15” (or even larger) iPad/iOS device for desktop use. My primary (and only computer at home) is a 12.9” iPad. It spends a lot of time on a desk, and I’d love to have a larger screen there and pick up a 10.5” for more portable use.

12.9 for the desk and 10.5 everywhere else. I’d welcome larger, but they need to get overall size and weight down.

Is this your setup? I’m on a 12.9 for the desk and a lot of mobile - but using a 7.9 on the couch/bed for reading. It’s hard to resist that 10.5 right now, lol. Really an impressive package of large screen with minimal weight.

It’s not, but I could see it in the future. I ended up just going with the 10.5 for my computer. I use it at the desk a lot, but I am also up and around the office with it as well. I didn’t want two devices. 10.5 is perfect in my eyes.

I don't know about that. If Apple keeps the 12.9" the same physical size but shrinks the bezels and enlarges the screen...then they can still use the current smart keyboard cover with it. But if they keep the same screen size but lose the bezels, then the current smartcover will be too big, and they'll have to make new smartcovers.

To me, that would be counter productive. But i guess we'll find out in a few months.

And they'd also be able to sell more smart covers!

When it goes to larger display, it loss the mobility aspect of thing. I cannot imagining i carry this thing around everywhere. It would mainly used for home and would setup on a desk.

If iPad Pro 12.9 inch already cost more than 1200 before tax in Canada, this iPad 15 inch would be more than 1500+ before tax.

If I have to spend this kind of money, why would I spend on iPad but not a high end desktop computer? I still can’t see how iPad can handle serious workload.

13” OLED IPad Pro Yes LG already makes the 13” OLED displays for some Laptops. Doesn’t take much to reduce a Bezel by 0.1” and call it 13”

Which were Alienware and Lenovo, and HP. But they dropped the 13” OLED Versions. Probably because they didn’t sell much expensive and Apple, placed such a big Order LG can’t deliver 13” OLED panels for everyone.

I would love a 20” iPad with an accessory arm, a la Surface Studio, or Pixar lap iMac. I use a surface hub at work, and is fantastic for design thinking sessions and digital work,
But I think we are a few years from that.

I wasn’t shrunken bezels for iPad 12.9” so it’s essier to carry around. But my guess is the iPad Pro 12.9” will not be updated with the Face ID and no bezels this year, I think only the flagship iPad will. They seem like they don’t give a crap about the 12.9”.
I hope I’m wrong and WWDC we get 2 new iPads with updated designs...finally after 6 years, (iPad Mini introduced the design we have now for all iPads back in 2012.) We are way past due for a real re-design.
