Typo. Highly doubt there will be a 15" air since that'll kill sales in the 15" Pro department.

Kind of like the 13" Air will kill sales of their Macbook dept?

Its not because of the pricing. If they introduce a 15" macbook air, it means it'll have to be priced either the same as the pro, $1999 or be $100 off and make it $1899. Its pretty much telling the people who want a 15" but don't want a dedicated video card, "Hey, theres another 15" you can buy! no need to buy the pro!". If they priced it the same, many people will rather get the Pro then the 15" air since you get a dedicated video card.

The MacBook is starting price of $1099. The air is $1799. See the difference? Many people would rather get the macbook then the air. Only the people who travel a lot, or just really really love the design got the air. Their MacBook sales aren't even a hint affected by this, however, introducing a 15" MacBook air will hurt Pro sales.

Looks like a typo since they've been mentioning 15-inch MBPs the whole time.

It's been said before, but the Air probably should go to a smaller screen. I guess the question is, however, how small can Apple go and keep the keyboard. If I remember correctly, the 12" PowerBook/iBook had the keyboard right up against the sides of the laptop. With the new keyboard layout, I wonder what screen would give the tightest fit?

It is a typo (I hope). A 15" MBA would looks wimpy against a MacBook Pro (spec-wise). Anyway, who would buy a 15" ultraportable?!

However if the battery was 3 times as big, it might actually be viable if you could get 10 hours of battery life; so with the bigger foot print, you get a bigger battery and nothing else.

You missed my sarcastic response completely. The MBA didn't kill the MB sales precisely because it is priced higher. So a 15" MBA would probably be priced north of $2699 to not interfere with MBP.

I disagree...

Typo. Highly doubt there will be a 15" air since that'll kill sales in the 15" Pro department.

I would NEVER buy an 15 inch MBA over a 15 inch MBP. Truth be told, I would buy a MB over a MBA. The pro model just has too many features that I use daily. If any potential 15 inch MBA were to mirror the 13 inch, then that would make it a non starter with me.:apple:
