Which size would be better for gaming/dvd viewing on a MBP? While the 17" is larger, I was wondering if the higher resolution would slow the games down...and as for the 15", I fear the screen would be to small for a truly engrossing gaming/dvd experience. Any opinions on this issue?? (need 2 make a choice)

The higher resolution would make gaming much better! And I feel that my 15" MBP gets very over crowded when I do my Multi-tasking thing :D Go for 17"!

I suspected that might be the case. thanks for the reply!!:) (My first thread:cool: )

Im getting the 17" for that exact reason. There is just not enough space on the 15" for me. I moved for an old 15" to a 23" cinema. I will never go back to 15".

17" is a good compromise

yes, and the 17" is not significantly more expensive either...just maybe a pain in the neck to carry around.

hows the 23" cinema?? i was thinking about one of those...can you connect those to like a 360 or ps3?

aaawosome....mabey my 750 circuit city giftcard will not be worthless after all!

good insight....anybody know if that might be the case?

Yes, this is why is I bought the 15".

You can play both the 15" or the 17" at any resolution and you'll get the same performance. However, LCDs (or is it LEDs now?) look best when played at their native resolution and it takes more resources to play games at 1680x1050 (or 1920x1200 :D ).

If your already playing a lower rez game, like Bomberman 2 on SNES9x, then the bigger the screen, the better for gaming.

Interesting. I guess you would get more FPS that way. Its a really hard choice though, cause with the 17" you get more space and a bigger picture. Do you find the 15" to be big enough for multitasking etc. though? (also, do you have glossy or matte?)

I'd say go with the high-end 15" incher.

Playing games at 1900x1200 can be pretty demanding.

If you want a bigger screen why not get a external?

Depends on what games you want to play.

The 15" Inch isn't really big enough for multitasking, yes you will get higher fps at lower res.

Don't expect FEAR to run at 1900x1200 and get incredible frame rates.
You might have to tweak some setting as well.

So go for the high end 15!

Yes I am starting to lean that way. The fact that 15" have the LEDs helps as well. Thanks for the posts everybody.

Although, isn't leopard supposed to have some feature that makes resolution adjustments more smooth?
