Hi all,

I am going to buy one of the new MBPs and I really don't know if I should go with a 15 or a 17 inch display.
Is the 17 HD really gorgeous? I couldn't see one yet.
Also do you think that the 2.4 is worth the difference in the 15 inch?
And the last one 160 5400, 160 7200, or 200/250 4200? Is there any speed difference? I am talking about the real deal not just benchmarks.

Thanks all

What are you planning on using the MBP for? What kind of apps, etc?

I use it mostly for web development. So Textmate and Safari the reason I am in a pro and not with a Macbook is just because I am a power vicious.

Well if its for web development and standard apps like safari, mail, itunes etc, then the 2.2 GHz 15" MBP should suit your needs. Regardless of which 15" MBP you choose, the LED backlit screen is just amazing. Better than the 17" HD, IMHO. And since you will be working with color a lot, I would recommend the matte screen.

Additionally, you should have some money left over to pick up an external monitor to expand your screen real estate past even the 17"s screen.

The 160GB 5400RPM HDD should also suffice even if you are using Photoshop to create your templates. Most of your work will likely be saved on an external drive, anyway.

For reference, I have a 2.2 SR MBP with 4GB RAM and it manages all Adobe and Apple software with no issues. It's not as fast as a Mac Pro, but its just a notebook after all.
