Hi all,

yesterday my rMBP got a new "beta security update" which required a restart. It's now on 15G1104 build. However my other two Macs didn't get the update.

The odd thing is, I am not on a beta. Anybody else with this new build? Why would only the laptop get it?

I got the same build forced update. IT IS NOT A SECURITY UPDATE, regardless of the title. I'm convinced it is a bug fix for El Capitan with certain graphics. Does yours have AMD graphics?

And I'll bet your Mac is also not supported for Sierra?

I have been filing daily bug reports on the final El Capitan release as it made my Mac Pro virtually scatterbrained.
Random graphics artifacts that let to eventual kernel panics within hours.

I was actually thinking of ditching my $3000+ Mac Pro! But I was pissed as **** and kept bugging Apple every single day, sometimes multiple times a day via Feedback Assistant Since some of the bug report people had revealed their names, I was able to mention them by name in bug reports.

Well, on this update, my graphics problem seems to be solved, but Apple also wiped my Feeback Assistant log during the update, so all I have are supporting files/pics to support any of this. Very clever Apple.

I'm also not allowed to sign into Feedback Assistant on this Mac anymore even though I'm still in the Beta program.

The 15G1104 Build is simply Apple covering their asses because they BRICKED some Apple Macs and ignored the bug reports for over a year! As they say, CYA before Class Action. :)

I'm on a base model 13" rMBP 2015, Iris 6100 – confusing as hell! Yeah it definitely didn't look like a security update...
