So I've been searching and trying many many camera apps in search for one that:

  • Takes pictures in 16:9 aspect ratio
  • Saves the 16:9 picture automatically to the Camera Roll
  • Has some filter options

After a long journey I settled with KitCam, which does all the above and more! I know that the photos essentially become 6MP due to cropping, but my iPhone 5 is 16:9, my laptop is 16:9, my monitor is 16:9 and my TV is 16:9, so I want my phone to take 16:9 pictures without me worrying about doing post production work.

I love KitCam, but recently news came out that Yahoo has acquired the company that created KitCam and Yahoo will integrate its technology in Flickr. All nice and well, but KitCam has been taken out of the App Store and won't be supported anymore! So my search starts all over again as I don't want to be stuck forever on this version and probably the iCloud backup won't be able to redownload the app from the App Store.

My big question here is, does anyone know a camera app that meets my requirements? Only ProCam comes close, but I miss the lenses/filters:

Well, ProCam just got an update and now has manual white balance and saturation controls :) I'm happy with that, next to the possibility of taking pictures with a 1 sec shutter time, 16:9 aspect ratio and immediate saving in the camera roll without first going to a light box.

I use pureshot over pro, I find it's a tad easier to use.

I've never tried Pureshot, but did find it in my searchjourney :) Does it also have the option to take pictures in 16:9? Because I only see 4:3, 1:1 and 3:2 in the description.

No it doesn't, sorry...I missed that
