I have obtained a new report today from my source within Apple’s production line about the upcoming 16 inch MacBook Pro. My source tells me that there will likely be no refresh to the 16 inch MacBook Pro in 2020, but there will be an Apple Silicon refresh in Q3 that will only have a 12 core CPU option and no 10 or 14 core option. My source also tells me that Apple is working on a beefier GPU for the 16 inch MacBook Pro that will have better GPU performance than the expected 14 inch MacBook Pro. The CPU and GPU for the upcoming 16 inch MacBook Pro are expected to be based on the A15 which will be based on the 5 nm process, not the 3 nm.

In terms of exterior design for the redesign of the MacBook Pros my source tells me there will be nothing too dramatic compared to the current gen. The only differences will be a thinner chassis and a redesigned display.

Please stop. You get a report from your source today and he is telling you that there will likely be no refresh to the 16 inch MacBook Pro in 2020. Did he miss the event on Tuesday? I'm 100% certain there will be no update to the 16 MBP in 2020.

Also thanks for the shocking report that "the 16 inch MacBook Pro that will have better GPU performance than the expected 14 inch MacBook Pro."
