16“ M2 Max Switcher from M1 Max

Hey guys,

you’re an Upgrader from the 16“ M1 Max to the 16“ M2 Max or you just own a 16“ M2 Max and want to share your experience (comparing both)?
Here you go, would be nice to get some general information or information about
- Battery life
- Temperatures SoC / Throttling / Fan noise / are fans kicking in fast or slow

Battery life: 1-4 hours longer depending on use case
Fans: will turn on at faster speeds and louder, but still on quiet side compared to
Intel chips; haven't measured temps
Weight: better weight distribution for safer carrying
Speakers: sound field different/wider, not necessarily worse/better.
Display: Unchanged
Performance: Less stutter when scrolling through OS compared to M1 Max

Thanks for your answer. I hoped that fans will be as quiet as the M1 Max and also that they are kick in as often as the M1 Max, but sadly already read that both aren't the case

Fans are usually as quiet on M2 Max until you put stress on the system;at that point it’s a little louder, but not by any significant margin.

The few times the fans have kicked in on my 14" M2 Max, I heard the air being exhausted from the machine more than the fans themselves, which is similar behavior to my older M1 13" MBP.
