I'm looking to upgrade to the new 16" MBP (i7 not i9). I need the computer to easily handle 2 4K monitors and one 1080p monitor.

I will not be using it for gaming, just productivity work but with lots of windows open: PyCharm, 20+ chrome, Airflow, RStudio. I know that I need at min 16GB of RAM but I'm ignorant on the GPU.

Does anyone here have at minimum a dual-4k monitor setup they run with the MBP with the 5300? How well does it perform? Do the fans ever get loud when pushing all those pixels? Do I need the 5500 - it's only $100 more but I wonder if that would be a bad thing for me it means more heat?

I searched but I found conflicting results:

Since they released the new 13” I’ve been considering the 16 thinking about waiting for a refurb. It would be more of a desktop for me I wouldn’t be traveling with it much. I was considering just getting the I9 because I would try to get awhile from this my 2011 iMac just recently died. Is there enough of a benefit or would an I7 suffice?
