I just took delivery of my 16" M1 Max yesterday, and have already seen at least twice where it has spontaneously disconnected and reconnected from Wi-Fi. It's not the network, as my 2017 MBP and none of the iPhones or iPads on the network are experiencing this issue.

Anyone else having Wi-Fi issues with their M1 Max?

Studio Max owner here. No wifi issues but don't start me on it disconnecting and reconnecting to/from USB hubs. No issues with my M1 MBA, just the Studio. Paraphrasing here, but Apple's insistence that software and hardware would simply see these machines as basic M1's on steroids wasn't shall we say 'the whole truth'. I even have an app which will run on the MBA but not the Studio.

Hope you get it sorted. Have you updated to the latest MacOS, released in the last couple of days? Might sort it.

Have you checked that your Wi-Fi signal isn't being interfered with? Some routers tend to overlap signals under the same Channel and cause dropout of signal. Usually people think it's the computer when it's not.

hotspot your laptop to a phone "if you have this service from your carrier" if not. Go to a neighbor, friend or starbucks and see if it you your wifi disconnect there.

I was at job before and my laptop used to ONLY disconnect from a personal router I had, this was happening because of an older Apple mouse I use to have. Once I powered it off the issue was gone.
Did you install any work VPN client such as Cisco anyconnect?

When my previous laptop does not exhibit this behaviour in the same location and on the same network, I’m inclined to believe that this is a result of the only variable that has changed: the laptop itself.

WiFi protocols change and are updated over time in both software and hardware. I have the same Macbook and have never had any issues with WiFi. You have received some good suggestions in the previous answers, perhaps you could try proceeding through trial and elimination of variables in different situations and if it persists contact Apple support for verification of possible hardware failure.

I'm having the same issue. 16" M1 Max, has entered a state where it is constantly disconnecting from Wi-Fi. Other devices are unaffected.

This isn't true in the slightest.

Had another weird issue where I used a USB-C Ethernet dongle to connect to my router to install a firmware update, and after removing the dongle, all three USB-C ports were dead. Like, completely dead. Wouldn't even charge the laptop. Rebooting fixed it, but it gave me a good scare.

haven't had any issue with disconnecting (knock on wood) Wi-Fi and especially connecting/reconnecting after sleep/reboot to my network and VPN is insane compared to my 2019 mbp.

I’ll touch wood too. So far no issues with either wifi or USB disconnects using multiple SSDs and drive docks with HDDs doing mission critical video editing projects. I’m still running MAC OS 12.3.1. What systems are you running?

Did you check your router's settings?

For what, exactly?
It's possible that surrounding networks are conflicting (even though previous devices didn't do so, or you didn't notice) ??

Change the Channels your 2.4 and 5G networks are on. They shouldn't overlap or be close to your neighbors.

Go in and create a system report, scroll down to wifi and see what your neighbors are running and what channels they are using.
