I’m having issues with my phone. The plug in my car for Apple car play doesn’t work when I plug the phone in. It will charge the phone but won’t connect to CarPlay. Secondly, I’m having issues connecting to Bluetooth. Anyone else having these issues?

I've found that 1) I have to use genuine or Anker cables, 2) I had to use USB-A (not USB-C) in my car (i.e. USB-C >> USB-A cable), and 3) there could be privacy/accessory settings - this messed with transferring data to a Dell PC.
Restarting phone, inserting cable a couple times forced the popup.
Since then, haven't had issues in my car (or rental cars - Volvo, Kia, Honda, Nissan, Ford, etc.).

Thanks for the reply. If possible, can you send me a link of the cable you are using?

disclaimers - 1) I don't endorse this; it just happens to be decent quality (and Apple cables don't exist), and 2) in my 2024 Telluride, I tried an adapter --> USB-C (female) to USB-A (male > into car slot), but it overheated.

But... EVERYTHING gets really hot, as does my phone. Same but not as bad on my previous Nissan Maxima(s).
(not so in BMW nor a Cadillac loaner... so your car will matter)

Thank you. That overheating scares me a bit. I have a hybrid car. I do need to do something so I can get apply play though.
