My phone (16 Pro Max) now runs hotter than I have ever experienced with any phone and any beta or regular release.

When did you install the iOS 26 DB 1?

Have you left the iPhone charge overnight to allow it to reindex the contents? This is how iOS shows up items in For You, Memories, and Featured Photos, and even the face and place recognition.

What exactly is the point of this thread, it should be obvious a Developer Beta 1 release can behave like this.
I have had a developer account for many years now, and every iPhone since the first one. This is the hottest any phone has ever been. I am wondering if this is anyone else’s experience. That is the point of this thread.

Well if the point was to find out what's happening, then there should be at least some basic info. But there's no question or any context in there.

Installed the day it came out, and I do allow the overnight charge, yes. Thank you!

Thank you for teaching me how to post.

I assume you already tried a reboot. If it hasn’t settled down by now, I would roll back to 18.5 before you damage your battery health.

Make a preventive backup, and do a clean install.
Otherwise wait for the major release to not stress the battery too much.
