160 GB drive noisy !!

Could anyone else with the core2duo 15" 160 GB Hitachi drive either CONFIRM or DENY that it is creating a pulsating sound (probably from spinning) which is very low - but very irritating!!

(seems to come from around the left speaker)

I am new to Mac - I dont wanna be extreme about this - just wanna know whether it's normal or whether I should do anything about it...

when I had mine (it's in for repairs, battery and kernel panics) it was much quiter than fellow classmates that had the CD MBP..... Way quieter than the old G4 that am using at the time
