So the 160gb version is about $100 more than the 40gb ( a little more than $100 with sales tax).
I noticed that the "Western Digital Scorpio WD1200BEVE 120GB 5400 RPM ATA-6 Notebook Hard Drive - OEM" on newegg is $69.99.
So for $30 dollars more i could have the extra 120gb "installed" for me without going through the hassle of hacking my take 2 (though in the future as cool hacks come out for take 2 i might just do so, the safari and skype look so cool!).
So i think i'd pay ~$30 for the "labor" to get another 120gb
I realize you'd actually have to upgrade to 160gb to get the "extra" 120gb but hopefully this makes sense. the 160gb on new egg is 89.99
This is all wrong of course if the ATV can accept SATA, can it?
thoughts?
i made an earlier post about the 160gb because i'd rather sync more than stream since i only have a MBP.
is ATA-6 compatible with SATA150? I'm not up on my connections so i don't know if the argument i just made still makes sense.
I'd love to put the SATA3gb 320gb hd i'm planning to use on my MBP upgrade in the ATV and hack it with leopard or something...then again i don't know about the ram on those atv's.
in previous posts i mentioned i really just want a mac mini entertainment center, but it's sooo due for an update i'd rather wait. the atv can hold me over (that integrated graphics card isn't enough for me, i don't wanna upgrade for 802n wireless, and seriously, the base model should have a superdrive).
Someone make me see the light on the oh so cheap 40gb.
THanks,
this forum is quite useful.
