I know that a 120GB Samsung HD will fit/work with 5G iPod video, but what about a 160GB Samsung HD? Anyone here tried it or know of others who has? With the upgraded 160GB HD, it will still cost less than a 32GB iPod Touch.

- samsung HS120JB

Width 71.0 mm
Length 54.0 mm
Weight (avg.) 59 g

Drive Configuration Capacity 120GB
Interface PATA/ZIF

Byte per Sector 512
Rotational Speed 4200 RPM

Since the specs are the same, I think all that really matters is the positioning of the HDD's connectors. Other than that, I would think that it should work.

After many hours of research, the 160GB HD should work. It has 40 pin ZIF connector just like the 120GB. Now I need to decide if it is worth the money to upgrade.

I'd be interested to know whether or not you decided to take the plunge and give this a go. If you did, I've got a couple of questions for you:

1. Where can you buy the 160GB drive?

2. Do you plan on using this with Rockbox?

Thanks!
