16GB LaCie MosKeyTo ultra mini USB drive for MacBook Air

This looks too cool for use as some extra storage for the Air...VERY TINY form factor that will work well with the 11" especially as there is no SD Card slot...

I've been burned by LaCie - had three 1TB drives die on me within the same year. LaCie refused to replace two drives because they couldn't replicate the failure (would die after several hours of continuous real world use, but they go by a different testing method).
Their datasheet/specs say up to 480MBps, which is just USB 2.0 standard. There's no real data transfer speeds mentioned. Lastly, 16GB is just not enough for me, especially for $50.

It's $3.72 with free shipping from Hong Kong (took two weeks). It's real small, doesn't stick out any further than my MagSafe adapter. It's fast enough to do Xcode/Corona/GameSalad development and house my iTunes library, and it supports up to 32GB microSD cards, which I can get for as low as $70.

Its available on Amazon too - I picked up a couple (one white and one black) with a couple of 16gb Micro SD cards - White I formatted for Mac and black for windows. I love it!

meritline had the same form-factor 16Gb avenix (sp?) flash drive for 18 or 19 bucks.
The MicroSD reader is very cool, since it will allow you to double up on storage.
FWIW, I've got a MosKeyTo 16GB and it's fast enough to record and edit multiple tracks of music, but that's the most demanding thing I've asked of it.
And one of the reasons I bought it was because of the excellent cusotmer service I've received from LaCie in the past. When a 2Big that was a year out of warranty crapped out on us at work, they swapped out a newer, larger 2Big in its place.

Don't have high expectations for the speed of a USB flash drive. They tend to be several times slower than internal storage, particularly with the SSD drives that are in the latest MacBook Air.
The slowest USB Flash Drives will be fine for music and video. Don't worry about speed if your main purpose of the flash drive is to store media.
The OP said nothing about storing media files (photos, music, video). Anything will store media, but the access times - particularly the write times - may be very slow. And don't even think of using a USB drive for something like transcoding formats. Better to do that on the internal drive (even a non-SSD disk) and copy it to the flash when finished.
