So, on 17" MBP, when you hold the MBP at about a 45 degree angle, the screen just starts closing.

Basically the screen starts to cave back in towards me when it goes from vertical to any angle past vertical towards me.

Is this normal?

The hinges are not as stiff as a 15". This is fact. The 17" is more weight screen wise also. This is fact.

The newer 17" don't have a problem with "flopping" over.

How do I know? I'm typing on one and just put it on end, 180%. The screen never moved other than a wobble and I won't do that again. If I could type with a half closed 17" if I could do it. I could even go 3/4 or more and it doesn't close.

I believe Apple addressed the problem a while ago.
