Hey guys;

I'm thinking of buying a 17" iMac in the next few days and I was wondering if the processor upgrade from 2ghz to 2.16ghz for $144AUD ($115US) was worth it?

While I'm upgrading the hard drive to 250GB as well as the RAM to 2gb (is it just me or the upgrade price to 3gb is fubar?) I thought the processor *might* be worth it. I'm planning to use it for general web surfing, videos and playing the occasional game.

Any ideas?

I'd stick with the stock 2.0 as you wouldn't notice the slight increase in speed.

With the money I'd consider upgrading the drive to 500gig.

Just mt 2p worth.

You wont notice the difference

Save your money, you wont notice the difference in speed. With the money you save, you could... well... save some money.

I would stick with 2.0 if you need the money. But the 1.83 to 2.0 difference if much more substantial, because (unless I'm wrong) I think you get double the L2 cache.

Don't bother upgrading the processor..you won't notice really any difference.

Go with a bigger hard drive (like the 500GB) or keep the 250 upgrade...2GB is fine..3GB is way over priced...
