There seems to be various threads dedicated to the 15 MBP, but not as many specific to the wonder that is the 17 inch MBP.
What are you using to lug this beast around? How do you protect it when in use (if you do at all)?

I'll start...I use an Osprey backpack that came attached to the Meridian 22 travel bag. It works well...I can't complain. That said, if I were to drop the bag...I'd be frightened to open it up. Everything I need on a daily basis fits in it...a P&S Canon, new ipod nano with Shure phones, magsafe charger, etc.

For protection against scratches while in use, I use a Marware protection pack. For carrying around, I slip the 17" into a Tucano microfibre sleeve, which then goes into a Brenthaven ProLite III carrying case. I love this case, even though it looks huge and can sometimes feel a little bulky. It will store the kitchen sink, though, if you need it to. Back and forth to/from work, I carry the 17" MBP, Magsafe adapter, extension power cord, wireless Mighty Mouse, two flash drives, two external USB portable hard drives with cables, Apple Remote, iPhone, iPod classic, iPod USB charger, Wacom Graphire bluetooth graphics tablet, and a monaural headset/microphone unit---all in this Brenthaven case, and all without making it feel overly stuffed! Wonderful case!
