Today. I've had it for a couple of hours.
1. When I started it up at first, the screen was a bit uneven -- after three hours on it, it seems to have worked itself out. It is bright, crisp and the colors are quite nice, after calibration.
2. Some whinning. Some. I'll see how it goes when it's dead silent out this evening.
3. It's hot.
4. I have 2gb of RAM in here and this machine flies.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. It's not perfect. But it's quite nice overall.

Wow.

How nice to hear a stable, sane point of view. Most things are a compromise, and computers especially... even our lovely Apples. I'm not trying to bash anyone else, I'm just venting.

Which calibration tool do you use? I just started using a Spyder2Suite and I'm slowly getting dialed in. I'm surprised how much ambient light effects the final profile.

Its _so_ much better I can't believe I waited so long to get it calibrated.

I just used the one in system preferences. I had my girlfriend do it; as I'm certain I carry that recessive trait... it looks quite nice. I'm now on to battery power and the machine is much cooler. I'm trying to run the battery down to zero in order to calibrate tonight. Overall, I'm quite happy with my machine.
