Has anyone played World Of Warcraft on their 17" MBP C2D?

I went to Panera Bread with a fully charged battery and started playing WoW in Window Mode with only the internet connecion on, bluetooth off.

I played 50-55 minutes and ran out of battery....

Is this normal runtime only? Seems very short..next time I have to bring my power plug.

I'm not surprised. Playing a graphics-intensive game, as well as using an active internet connection. Both draw lots of power. Was it on wireless? If it was, there's your big power drain.

Yes, I was playing WoW using wireless internet connection...but damn, I was hoping to play at least 2 hours on it with fully charged battery.

Doubt you could get 2 hours. Try playing on the lowest brightness and change your power settings to "better battery life"

I'd still think you'd only get maybe 1-1.5 hrs. with that, if even.

Fans are gonna run like mad too, plus graphics load, plus CPU load, plus plus plus ...

I can watch 3 hours of TV easy, but gaming? I'm amazed you got the hour.

Though WoW does look great on this thing, I have to admit.

the most i've gotten out of my CD MBP (15") is 4 hours on the lowest brightness level, Airport and BT turned off and the power set to "better energy savings." i was running Word (through Rosetta) and iTunes with a little iPhoto and iCal action. certainly nothing too taxing on either the GPU or CPU.

don't expect these machines to perform miracles. for future reference, Panera has wall outlets (at least the few i frequent), so take your charger.
