Stock MBP 17" C2D running Bootcamp XP Pro on 20GB partition. Here's what I have:

When I connect using a wired LAN from my NIC, to our HP gigabit ethernet switch, I get connectivity for browsing the web but when it comes to doing large files or installs, my NIC bogs down to the point of almost doing nothing.

Also, when using Symantec Ghost Enterprise and connecting my MBP via crossover cable to another PC, again, my NIC seems to be "out of sync" for lack of a better term... They start talking, then after about 4 minutes of Multicast activity, the client stops responding and I lose my connection. It's as if my MBP is just putting out tons of bad packets, or at the very least, it is doing the equivilent of "screaming" and the other devices cannot keep up. (My MBP is the ghost server by the way). This used to work perfectly in my non C2D 17" MBP.

To fix both issues, I can put in a 10/100 hub or 10/100 switch between the MBP and the other computer or the gigabit switch and all works well.

Why would using a hub/switch make my NIC behave?
I'm going to reboot into OSX and see if the same happens there. I'm thinking the MBP NIC does not play nicely with Windows networks... Anyone run into this before?
