I have a 17" MBP and it is a great machine. I have been reading up on the new Intel chips and they seem very promising. My MBP is everything I need but the screen is not as bright as my last laptop and it has a low whine when hooked up to the ac adapter. I think i want to return it and wait and get a MBP with the new 64Bit Intel chip so I can have more ram and a faster processoer for video encoding. Will Apple offer me a credit or refund on my MBP? I bought it on April 24 and Received it on May 10th. I received an invoice in the mail about a week ago.

I might even look into the option of selling it for about $2500-2600 shipped. Email me for more info and for some pics.

Hi taco2004,

I see you bought yours with the ADC Student Discount. I just read their Hardware Purchase Program Terms and Conditions for you and found some useful information:

7. Apple has a no-return policy on product purchases. You may contact your Regional Support Center to request a return, and, at Apple's sole discretion, you may be allowed to return the products subject to a fifteen percent (15%) restocking fee. Returns will not be accepted without prior authorization.

And in regards to you selling it:

6. You may not resell or otherwise transfer any items purchased for a period of at least one year from the date of shipment. You may use products that you order under the ADC Hardware Purchase Program only for the purpose of developing software and/or hardware products that will be sold for use with apple products.

Hope this helps.

Does Apple check up on this? I might check today and see about returning it.
