Hello,

I'm curious here how well the sound card is on the MBP. I know must all things about a computer except for sound cards. I think I heard it is an integrated sound card, but is it any good?

Or does the dedicated sound cards really make much of a difference?

Let me know anything you know about the MBP's sound card. Thank you

(I looked for other threads couldn't find any)

If you had a need for any kind of specialty sound card, you'd already know about firewire add-ons. What are you planning on doing that you feel you need some higher-than-normal-quality sound card?

It allows digital and analog in and output, what more do you want?

I really have no need for a higher than normal qaulity sound card that I know of, but like I said I dont know the difference between higher than normal and just normal so how would I know what I need

I'm going to use the MBP for video editing.

Other than some cards having analog outputs for surround channels, there's very little difference in sound cards. They are all pretty much capable of the same things until you get into professional level equipment. It'll be more than adequate for what you're using the laptop for.
