Hi. I just got my 17" MBP SR with the Hi-res screen and 7200rpm hard drive. I'm a happy camper.
No dead pixels, no problems whatsoever. Until.... I installed CoreDuo Temp since I was curious to know what temperatures I was getting during idle and full load.
My problem is that CoreDuo Temp reports my CPU at 1.5Ghz on idle and 2.0ghz on load. I had also installed miniStat 2 v1.89 just to verify this and I am getting exactly the same results. No matter what I do, I can't get the CPU past 2.0Ghz.
I have the power adapter plugged in, have set energy to "better performance" and Im still not getting anthing above 2.0Ghz. Is there a utility that can load up my cpu to its max. I just want to be sure that there is nothing wrong with my machine.
By the way, system profiler reports my processor to be a 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo. What gives? Or is there something wrong with my method of testing. Thanks in advance for any input.
