Hi. I´m going to buy a 17" MBP later this year, I´m waiting for Merom and I don´t really need a new laptop right now (I have a 15" PB G4 1.67GHz, 1440x960, 1.5GB RAM).

Do you think it could get a bigger harddrive next rev? I think I´d get the 100GB 7200RPM HDD plus an external HDD.

I have a question, now that we have bootcamp I´ll most likely use it to play some Windows-only games, will I have any issues running the games from the external HDD? I´ll probably install Windows in the interal HDD since I´ll be using Visual Studio next year.

Could anyone recommend a good external HDD? (100-200GB, $150-$250)

Sounds good, I would recommend checking out http://www.cheapstingybargains.com/ and buying one with a rebate and then buying an external enclosure. I did this and got a 160 GB 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache Seagate drive for $30 plus the $40 enclosure. It's a piece of cake to assemble and you can't find a better deal then getting a new 160 GB External for $70. Good luck.

about the drive thing dude, the esata thing is looking very promising. like multiple times faster than fw800. only thing is your gonna break your bugdet slightly, the esata express card seems to be selling around $120 and, plus an enclosure, plus the drive, i got a 250gb drive and an enclosure for around $180cad. so if you're willing to spend the money, the esata thing sounds very nice.

No... he said he's waiting for Merom. Why do you think that means waiting his whole life? For the record, Merom is worth the wait, it's a completely new chip. It's common knowledge that Yonah was a temporary chip. Merom is going to rock.
