17" vs 15" speakers

Are the speaker size/configurations the same between the two - obviously the 17" would have more room to allow bigger, better speakers.

Same size, but there are 4 in the 17", vs. 2 in the 15".

From threads that I've read in the past and people I've talked to it seems that the 17" MBP's speakers are supposed to sound better than the 15". My 17" definitely sounds great; loud, crisp and clear. Far better than the tinny sound you normally expect from a laptop!

I suppose it would make sense for the larger amount of space available to be used to put in more speakers as gr8tfly said above.

The speakers on both the 15" and the 17" are pretty damn quiet in my opinion.

No laptop speakers have loud volume, but what do you expect there so small.
