I think LED will show up eventually in 17-inch models, the question is

men's(or my :D ) greediness wanting LED together with HD (1920 x 1200)

is it possible? or you can't select both?

The resolution of the LCD panel used has nothing to do with the backlighting used. So there's no reason they can't use the higher resolution LCD with the new backlighting.

(ALL Macbook and Macbook Pros have HD screens though.)

LOL. 17-inch models will get LED for sure eventually, it's not even a debate. Currently the 17-inch do not have LED...so as of right now, you cannot have both LED and 1920X1200. Very probable before the end of 07.

They've already publically stated that the MBP is the first 15" LED display available on any laptop anywhere; previous ones (like Sony etc) have only been 13" or less.

So I'm guessing it's taking a while to get the bigger panels sorted for LED, but I reckon they'll all be LED by the time Leopard comes out (I hope, as my next purchase will be an LED HD 17" MBP :D )

that's exactly what I am seeking :D
