Noticed yesterday at the Car Inspection that I can no longer send messages to "short" numbers (less than 6 digits). Must have been in 18.1 or 18.2 this bug was introduced. In October I took one of our cars to inspection and you register by texting your license plate # to the number 71250. Yesterday I was at the same place with our second car and when trying to text I could not - the text field is not opening.

Adding a random six digit number and the text-field opens.

The staff at the Car Inspection just sighted and asked if I used an iPhone - clearly annoyed because they have been automating so much to get rid of staff handling mundane tasks such as customer service....

maybe a US issue? Short codes are working ok in the UK, I have to submit blood pressure readings to a 5 digit short code number with send and receive working.

I notice in the screenshot that the number is hyphenated, could that be a problem?

Hehe, seems to have something to do with the number!
71250 doesn't work work but 72150 does - too bad the Car Inspection has "the wrong number!".

Nope, typing message first is not a work-around.

I'm in Sweden.

@matsan Both works for me, located in Sweden and using a 13PM with 18.2
What if you delete the old contact that has the 71-250?

edit: and I didn't ad +46 in front

Ha - deleting the old contact solved it!

I guess Opus Bilprovning or the cell operator have done something causing this issue. The SMS reminder for October was sent as "71-250" and at the Car Inspection I simply typed in the license plate as a reply and sent, so the number got into Recents.

Yesterday's reminder was sent from "71250" but I couldn't reply and when trying to send a new message I ended up in this situation (like many other of Opus' customers).
