I have a mid-2009 Mac Mini running 10.6.4 and a Samsung T260 display with a native resolution of 1920x1200. For a while it was working nicely via a Mini DisplayPort->HDMI adapter at 1920x1200. The display settings got switched on the Mac, and the 1920x1200 option is no longer available.

I am able to get 1980x1200 if I use a Mini-DVI to DVI adapter, or if I do Mini-DVI to HDMI, but Mini-Displayport->HDMI maxes out at 1080p. I don't have a MDP->DVI to test that particular configuration.

Considering it worked until the display was changed (My kid switched it to 1600x1200 when she was playing on it), I don't want to go and blow my Mini away and reload it. I tried SwitchResX, but after reboot it always told me a 1920x1200 is not valid for the display - Same settings work fine on the Mini-DVI port.

Any ideas what I'm missing here? Thanks!

Try SMC and PRAM reset and repair permissions with Disk Utility. I know those sound little far fetched but can't think of anything else to do

I tried each of those in turn, without any success. Any other ideas?
