If you have been a 1password user, you are in for a treat with 1Password 6. It has received a makeover from the inside out. I haven't tried out all the features yet, but two new notable features is the inclusion of 1Password in Spotlight (via user toggle) and Diceware password generator.

Been a while since I played around with generating passwords on 1Password. If this new diceware feature is where it gives you random words with a separator then I hope there's some filtering going on. I just tried it and it gave me (wish I'd done a screenshot) mature-bunghole

The new blue color scheme is hideous. It's very eye straining compared to the various other blues in other apps.

I do like the Spotlight support though.

1Password is definitely not a time saver when you compare it to the competition (LastPass, Dashlane, etc). 1P refuses to offer auto fill and auto login claiming it compromises security. Using 1Password is significantly slower and more cumbersome than these other apps. I wish I could agree with you because it has a a great looking interface and works well when you jump through the extra hoops.

I have a weird issue with 1Password... I have enabled Spotlight search for the app and when I hit a letter on the Spotlight search, let's say for example the letter "S" it gives me below the option to log in with the saved login for "Simplenote" app. That would be totally normal, but, I have deleted the Simplenote login from 1Password ages ago... So when I try to hit the supposed login it gives to me, I am transferred to the home screen of 1Password. So what is that? Does 1Password continues to store logins that I have deleted long time ago?

If we were discussing an app that wasn't about personal and financial security, I might be inclined to agree with you. I agree with 1Password's stance in these two areas. I don't want an app that I put a lot of faith in to cut corners, just to try and please others, who don't like a few extra seconds worth of work.

There is super sensitive data in 1Password and it’s a bad security practice to rely on one mechanism (in this case the extension) to the right thing in all cases. Security needs to come first with such apps and I wholeheartedly trust their assessment.

Do you still have it in your 1Password trash?

I wouldn't think 1Password is storing a deleted profile. You don't still have the old account showing under trash in the app do you? Have you checked your 1Password file in iCloud, Dropbox etc. to make sure it has been syncing correctly and isn't harboring the old profile?

You might send a message directly to 1Password, or check their forum, as they are pretty good about responding their as well.

Odd, I never noticed. Apparently it’s not available in the iOS app. If it really bugs you then you probably have to sync it with your Mac once.

But isn't LastPass the goofy service that stores your passwords in their cloud, under their control? Kek. Not a very remarkable benchmark.

Sounds like it is still syncing that profile with your old vault entry. I agree with Kallt. I would sync with your Mac and that should resolve the issue. I believe you can sync put to 20 logins in 1Password trial for OS X. Even when you have more, you should still be able to see passwords for each login.

Apparently they store them on your device (computer at least) and on their servers so not completely under their control. Still gonna keep using 1Password though

...but thats still them keeping your passwords... And they know the algorythm ised to encrypt sooo...

They know the algorithm, but not the actual password that's used to encrypt them (all encryption / decryption occurs on the device and the only thing stored on their servers is the encrypted data).

IMO It's as safe as 1Password's option to store the archive in Dropbox or iCloud (of course, many people choose not to do that and people have to evaluate their own risk profile)

Thanks a lot guys, did that and my issue was solved! Still, I believe that 1Password should exclude items that are in the trash from appearing in the Spotlight Search, I'm gonna provide feedback to them and hopefully they'll change it!
