A couple of months ago my watch had the exact same issue that you show in your video. I got online and had an online chat with Apple Support. They told me I would have to pay $199 to replace it. I took it into an Apple Store Genius Bar, and they told me the same $199 price to exchange it for a replacement. I told him I thought this was absolutely ridiculous that they would make a Watch where the seal would fail in less than two years. They gave me the little spiel about how I should've bought AppleCare and I would've been covered. About six weeks later I was listening to a podcast, macOS Ken, and he mentioned this extended warranty to three years for watches that were separating from the back. I thought I was golden. When I got home that day I called up and spoke to Apple on the phone. The person who I first spoke to, after I told her how I had just heard about the new three year extended warranty, transferred me to a senior care representative. The senior care representative, after reviewing all the previous notes from my other call and Genius Bar visit, told me that my situation was not the same one being covered by the extended warranty. Mine had the face detaching. The extended warranty only covered where the circular plate on the back that you attach the battery charger to was detaching. She told me I was out of luck. I told her how ridiculous that was. Oh, she had also told me that that was just normal wear and tear. I told her if that was normal wear and tear, that I thought it was ridiculous they would make a product that would be detaching from the face less than two years after purchase. I told her, "thanks for pushing me further away from buying any more Apple products in the future." About 40 minutes later, my phone rang and it was the same senior support representative. She told me that she felt bad about my situation, had spoken to a manager, and that they were going to make an exception and replace my watch. Less than 24 hours later, FedEx arrived at my door with an empty box so that I could return the broken watch. That was on a Friday afternoon. Within 30 minutes, I took my Watch to the nearest FedEx drop off store. It arrived in California the following Tuesday. That afternoon a replacement watch was shipped out from Pennsylvania, and on Wednesday by noon, I had my replacement watch.
