Hi guys,
I've had my iMac since Christmas of 2007 and it has never given me a problem. But for the past few months, I've noticed that there's scan lines in my screen. I've tried solid white and black desktop pictures and screensavers, shutting my computer off.. but these scanlines are still there. Sometimes when i leave a window in the same spot for 5 minutes or so and then move it,there are still remnents of that window still there. They go away though, but these other lines i think are permanent and it really distracts me cuz it makes images look low quality when really, it's just the screen. I was thinking of bringing it into the apple store to get it checked. DO you guys have any advice for fixing it or tips on getting it repaired. I have apple care as well.

THANKS A MILLION :)

It doesn't seem a difficult decision to have it checked/serviced under AppleCare, especially if it has persisted for months now. It's probably not going to resolve itself at this point and the AppleCare coverage isn't going to last forever.

Hmm, how about trying a PRAM reset. Restart and upon the boot chime, hold Apple-Option-P-R until it chimes 2 more times. I had scan lines on my MBP after awhile and this cleared them up.
