1st gen ipad running ios5.1.1

Hi guys,

I'm trying to transfer the photos from my iPad 1st gen running ios 5.1.1 to my imac. I have about 8000+ photos dating back to 2010.

What's the fastest way to do this?

I tried to import the photos using Preview, but oddly, there are only about 150 photos shown. Not sure. what is wrong here.

Did the same thing one months ago on an iPad 1.
Connected at the pc with the USB charger cable and find it as a normal hard disk named iPad, double click and there are some folders, open folders and there I found all my photos.
Ctrl C Ctr V on the folders and I've copied them all on my pc.
Ipad has a slow USB connection so it's a looooong process.

I used to use the Image Capture application on my Mac for that.
