Ok I have a 1st gen iphone i unlocked/jailbroke with pwnage tool. I used tmobile for awhile but there service was terrible in my area. I am going to use AT&T and the store told me I need to pick a sim card and activate it using iTunes. When I activate through itunes I assume I will lose my Cydia apps and themes etc. Will I be able to get these back if I re-jailbreak it with pwnage tool? Do I do it the same way AND when I activate with iTunes will that automatically lock it?:apple:

everything works fine. Im currently using it just as an iPod for now. Im going to use it with the AT&T pick your plan. (kinda like pre-paid) When I called the store he made it seem as if I MUST go through iTunes.

I'm assuming your are getting a data plan also.

If you are going to activate a new ATT sim and new service(at home) with ATT you will have to restore activate the phone to get the ATT account and repwn. If the phone is already active when you conect it to itunes it will still show the t-mobile number.

This is what I had to do since I wa going with a legit ATT contract.

Restored the phone.
Activate new account in iTunes to get the account setup.
Once the phone was activated run pwnage to pwn the phone to accept custom firmware.

Phone is now active with a legit contract(iphone data plan).

After that I have not had any problems.

On the other hand if you are just going to use voice service and WIFI like my wife. Just activate a number at an ATT store and get a free phone since you will be in a contract.

pwn the phone and insert the sim from the new phone.

The guy at AT&T is probably assuming that you're iPhone isn't activated, which is why you would need to use iTunes. Not in your case, though.

So do I need to go through iTUNES?
The guy basicly said yes since its a pick your plan. I need to bypass the credit check but putting all ones for my social and pick your plan will pop up. I just assumed I need to restore the phone to factory settings, activate it,Then pwn again.
