One of my ATV4K1s has been having issues lately, leading to having to restart it a few times a day. It might be due to the latest tvOS software, or maybe HW issues.

Either way, I was thinking about purchasing a new ATV4k2, and moving the problematic ATV4K to a less used TV.

But, I was curious if the 1st generation Siri Remote would work with the new ATV4k with the A12.

I figured I cannot be the first person to wonder this, but all the search results I have found on the forum and elsewhere on the internet all have to do with the other way around, the Siri Remote 2 on the older A10X ATV4K or ATV4.

I am having trouble finding a new 1st Gen Siri Remote as well. I guess all the old stock is sold off. The only ones I have found are shady ones from China, with not so great reviews. Guess I will have to go with a used one.

I have a 1st Gen Siri remote hidden away that is our backup remote for when the kids lose the new one in their room or under the dog's bed or wherever it ends up. It works just fine with the new Apple TV.
