iPod 1st generation iPod revival

I bought an original iPod in 2001 or 2002 (can't remember the exact date anymore). I found it in a drawer and it still worked although the battery only lasted about 5 minutes. So I decided to refresh it. It's working great now. Here's what I did:

I have a 2nd generation 20GB iPod which I've had for the last 14 years (got it just after the 3rd generation was released. I'm still using it to this day.

Over the years I've replaced the battery 4 times* and about 18 months ago I replaced the 20GB HDD.
It's still my favourite iPod model

*I've found that the aftermarket batteries will sometimes swell / expand after a year or two of use, requiring them to be replaced. Strangely on two occasions this had happened after taking the iPod on a long-haul flight....

(BTW Pitty you didn't find Claris the Dogcow......moof!!)
