I'm going to buy my 1st iMac this year at some point, I'm waiting to see if or when the new 1 comes out.

I'll be going for the 27" display, are the current iMacs any good for playing full hd movies gaming etc?

Thanks :)

No Blu-ray support, but downloaded HD content works fine. I only game in Windows except for Starcraft II and even then I prefer it on my dedicated gaming laptop. Of course you can bootcamp your iMac and play there but unless you get the top of the line the GPU is still weaker than a dedicated gaming system.

Cheers,

I'm getting sick of windows but I think I'll get bootcamp for certain ms software.

I'll be using it for watching hd tv shows/movies mainly for the bedroom, as long as everything runs without any lag/sync issues I'll be happy, my laptop can't cope with it haha

Gaming will probably be stuff like football manager & mac store games, so it looks like I'll be ok, I've got my xbox kinect for the fun games anyways :)
