Hi everyone this is my first time to MacRumors and my first post.
I have had my macbook about 3 weeks (first Mac). I have allllways wanted one. Now that I have it i'm starting to get worried about a couple of things.
1st. I am already starting to get the slightest hint of a blackish stain where my hands rest when i'm typeing (I do alot of typeing, HS student, lol), and i'm confused about if apple will fix it or not. Will they? I read things that make me think ok they will and then I read things that make me think they wont, which is it?
2nd. What is this about the talk of a already new macbook with a 64mb something? Are they already coming out with a new one?

Thanks in advance for the replies.

apple probably won't fix the stains for you, and there are rumors that the macbook pro will recieve a 64-bit "Merom" Intel Core2Duo processor. That just means that it processes data at a higher quality, to make things simple.

There are two kinds of stains. One is a discolouration that can't be cleaned off. I think I've read that it's usually yellowish. The other kind can be cleaned off. Since you say it's blackish, chances are that you can clean it off using something like Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

I've had two MacBooks replaced at the store (<2 weeks) when they turned a pinkish colour. I'm now at week 3 on my third one and it's turning yellow. If you contact AppleCare you can send it to them and they'll replace the part, but when I spoke to Apple Customer Relations they're refusing to guarantee the replacement part. So, you're looking at 10 days or so without your machine, and it's just as likely to do it again.

They helpfully suggested I pay another £130 for a black one. Nice.

I'd try cleaning it first if I were him.
