My MacPro is doing a backup for the 1st time with Yosemite.
Seems to be taking a longer amount of time than usual to do this backup.
Also noticed it's a 20+ GB.
Is this normal? I've never really noticed it prior to this.
Thanks for any and all replies.

The initial Time Machine backup tends to be the slowest one of all. As long as you see progress being made, be patient.

Yes, but the time will matter based on connection. What Mac Pro do you have and how are you connecting? Newest Mac Pro via thunderbolt to an external SSD or USB 2 to an external laptop hdd?
