I decided to go 1TB, and was surprised to see write speeds 2x as fast nearly. Pretty interesting.

In a van down by the river
After trying the one I returned for just a few minutes...
My wife wanted one - and she loves it!!

(she had a first generation butterfly disaster)

No clue if this one has BT issues as she uses it as a straight laptop, with no accessories, etc

May test this weekend if I can claw it away from her for a bit - lol
Very nice of you to get her one. Hopefully her blissful experience will have you reexamining your repurchase in short order.

I started a thread looking for thoughts on doing a fully base MBA 7core/8gb/256gb for myself to see if folks have thoughts I have not considered.

I would like to have an ASi device to be in the system and using as things go, but not sure I want to plunk down major cash for something to replace my Hack.

My Hack has an 8700/32 Ram/2TB NVMe/RX 580 and thus it's not actually possible to buy Apple Silicon to beat it in terms of what the GPU/RAM can do for me -- not yet anyhow.

Geekbench shows M1 beating up my i7 8700 a bit, but on OpenCL and Metal, my RX580 **destroys** the M1 GPU still (by 3-4x)

Please remember folks that all the screenshots and figures mentioned on this thread appear to be short bursts of speed tests.......anyone actually doing a task that the SSD is reading or writing for sustained periods then the figures will change to a lower figure......as to how much lower I have no clue. lol

The results I've seen for 10 Bit YUV 4:2:2 2160 from the above screenshots don't look particularly promising.
