I’ve already filled the drive with 220GB of data and it’s about 2900-3000MB/s

It was fast 3.2gb/s a sec and reads close to it. Bigger ssd will be faster
Thanks but I’m seeing different speeds being reported with the same size SSD

A mate of mine has a read and write of around 2.6GB/sec

zollotechs latest video where the MacBook Air with 512gb with 3.6gb/sec read and write outperforms his

I wouldn't worry too much, unless you're really streaming things through memory and loading large files. You shouldn't notice any difference in practice, considering the biggest hit is generally going to disk in the first place on smaller reads.

I just got my 512gb MacBook Pro and the SSDs are 2850MB/s read and write

Unlike the MacBook Air which is 3.6gb/s

Disappointing

Where are you seeing suggestions that the MBA is 3.6GB/s?
