2.0 dev team jailbreak??

hey so im presuming its been asked alot and yup there is probably a dozen other threads i could look at but anyway....

should i upgrade to 2.0?and why? or should i stay on 1.1.4?

iPhone V1.1.1 (3A109a) Upgrade to latest 2.0

I have got iPhone from my relatives and this iPhone shows Version 1.1.1 (3A109a) when I connected to my iMAC it is showing to upgrade available for my phone.
Please let me know shall I upgrade and is any chance it will be locked or may not work properly.
I am not very much IT prof. nor uses computer very much.
Please guide properly.
