My friend just gave me an iPhone to try fixing. Basically, he accidentally updated to 2.0 then messed around and got it back to 1.1.4, BUT his carrier isn't showing up. I've even tried my own sim card and everything works BUT the phone part of the iPhone. Does anyone know what to do? My friend is COMPLETELY desperate and would pay anyone here $50 to figure this out for him.

Why not just use pwnage and go back to 2.0.

It sounds to like me that by upgrading he relocked the phone.

So use pwnage go back to 2.0 and unlock. easy.

Error 1604 :( I think my Mac Mini is cursed. First my brothers iPhone 3G got messed up by error 1604 earlier today and now this...

If your using pwnage then make sure your in DFU mode.

1604 is generally just keep changing USB ports/wires/computers till you randomly get luck lol
